Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and his mother Princess Andrew, also known as Princess Alice.
Prince Andrew.
The Duke of Edinburgh's father was Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark, of the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, the son of King George I of Greece and Olga Constantinovna of Russia.
Prince Phillip was born in 1921, on a kitchen table on the Greek island of Corfu in a house that had no electricity or indoor plumbing.
Shortly afterwards, Prince Andrew, his wife, and their baby son Phillip, were forced to flee from Greece after an army coup. Prince Andrew had been threatened with execution.

By 1930, Prince Andrew was estranged from his wife, and went to live on the French Riviera, with his mistress, Countess Andrée de La Bigne.
Princess Andrew became deeply religious.
She began claiming that she was receiving divine messages, and that she had healing powers.
She was forcibly removed from her family and placed, for a time, in a sanatorium in Switzerland.
Her analyst reported that she talked incessantly about prostitutes.
The Marquess of Milford Haven had the largest collection of sadomasochistic pornography in Europe.
During World War II, Princess Andrew had sons-in-law fighting on the German side and a son in the British Royal Navy.
Her cousin was the German ambassador in Greece until April 1941.
She lived in Athens throughout the war.
And during this period, she hid Jewish widow Rachel Cohen and two of her five children from the Nazis.
And she helped organize soup kitchens and two shelters for orphaned and stray children, and a nursing circuit for poor neighbourhoods.
