On 16 April 2012, we read that, on 16 June 2012, the SNP's national council will vote on whether or not to end its long-standing opposition to Nato membership.

Traditionally, the SNP is anti-nuclear.

The SNP was opposed to the NATO bombing of former-Yugoslavia.

But, it looks as if the SNP has been infiltrated by the CIA and its friends.

Alyn Smith supports Nazi NATO?

SNP Euro MP Alyn Smith, a member of the national council, has hinted that he will support joining NATO.

Smith said: "There are an awful lot of Danes and Norwegians who look at Nato as being a sensible thing to be part of."

Angus Robertson, the SNP’s defence spokesman, has hinted at an independent Scotland being part of Nato.

Former SNP leader Gordon Wilson, who failed to get the SNP to abandon its opposition to Nato in the 1980s, said: "There's nothing harmful in being a member of Nato."

NATO has murdered many innocent children, in order to advance US imperialism.

John Wilson, a senior Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) said he would continue to oppose Nato.

Wilson warned that NATO membership would weaken the international standing of an independent Scotland.

Wilson said: "The current policy of the SNP is to oppose not only the siting of nuclear weapons in Scotland, but also the Nato commitment to the use of nuclear weapons as a first strike option.

"Membership of Nato would be incompatible with the current party policy on nuclear weapons."

MSP Jamie Hepburn has said that NATO hurts the West's relationship with Russia, relies on the continued use of nuclear weapons, and serves no useful purpose in the modern world.

One of Britain’s leading defence experts, Professor Malcolm Chalmers, has said that signing up to Nato would mean the Trident submarine fleet and its nuclear warheads being kept in Scotland.

The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) has played a major role in the CIA's Arab Spring.

Mark Hirst has examined the role of the US Government-funded National Endowment for Democracy (NED) which has taken over the CIA’s ‘propaganda’ dirty work and may be seeking to influence Scottish politics.

WHAT THE ECONOMIST ACTUALLY WROTE ABOUT SCOTLAND

On 14 April 2012, The Economist produced an article, about independence for Scotland, which contains a lot of useful factual information.

According to the article (The Scottish play):

1. "Scotland could probably go it alone now".

2. In 2010-11 Scotland produced about 10% of Britain's GDP.

Over the same period food exports have risen by a similarly impressive 65%. (Could luxury exports help finance independence? )

Oil revenues, in 2010-11, amounted to £8.8 billion.

In 2010-11 Scotland’s GDP was £145 billion.

4. "North Sea oil and gas would have made Scotland rich ... Declassified documents show that, in the 1970s, Treasury officials reckoned Scotland could comfortably have paid its own way."

Oil and gas prices are soaring.

The average oil price was $62 a barrel in 2009; in 2011 it was $111.

A ... bet for continued growth is oil services. There is already a thriving hub of technical firms around Aberdeen.

Of course, The Economist article contains a lot of spin.

It tries to tell us that SMALL countries are VULNERABLE.

The Economist does not mention that Ireland and Iceland, in spite of their banking difficulties, are still today much richer than Britain.

And, it is the small countries that are still the richest in the world:

Singapore (which has no oil)

Norway

Qatar

Macau

Liechtenstein

Our main worry is that AN 'INDEPENDENT' SCOTLAND WOULD NOT BE INDEPENDENT.

2. The Economist dismissed oil as a spent resource.

"Scotland's oil and gas industry is set to generate a revenue stream of £379 billion, according to PricewaterhouseCooper's analysis in November 2011."

3. Scotland has "25% of Europe's offshore wind and tidal energy potential."

4. Scotland has five of the world's top universities, more than much larger countries like France.

Scotland produces more graduates per head than any country in Europe.

5. Tourism and whisky exports bring in more than £8bn a year.

"Even the financial services sector is still pulling in cash."

Despite the banking crash.

OIL, INDEPENDENCE AND THE CIA

AN 'INDEPENDENT' SCOTLAND WOULD NOT BE INDEPENDENT

It would appear that there is a cunning plan to give Scotland a sort of 'fake' independence.

The idea is that the Scots will be given as much independence as the North American Indians, the Australian Aborigines or the good people of Diego Garcia.

In the UK parliament, Angus Robertson is the Scottish National Party leader and the spokesman on Foreign affairs and Defence.

He and his colleagues supported the 'no-fly' zone over Libya, which involved the bombing of Libya and the killing of civilians.

He worked as a foreign and diplomatic correspondent in Central Europe for the BBC.

The BBC is believed to be run by MI6 and is believed to employ people from MI6 as foreign and diplomatic correspondents.

Robertson is a participant in the Parliamentary Armed Forces Scheme.

This gives Members of Parliament 'experience of the armed forces'.

It is sponsored by arms manufacturers.

Robertson could take over from Alex Salmond, if Salmond had an accident?

Robertson has confirmed that an 'independent' Scotland would join UN and Nato-led military operations abroad, if sanctioned by the UN.

Scottish National Party (SNP) sources say that the SNP is considering scrapping opposition to Nato membership.

An 'independent' Scotland could thus be a tool of the Pentagon.

SNP leader Alex Salmond is suggesting that an 'independent' Scotland would:

1. Keep sterling and the Bank of England as its central bank, by forming a currency union with the rest of the UK.

2. Keep the monarchy.

3. Keep the BBC as a Scottish broadcaster.

Military analysts believe an independent Scotland may have to retain Trident nuclear weapons as a price for defence co-operation with the UK.

Rupert Murdoch is supporting Salmond.

This explains why the SNP government in Edinburgh has:

1. Defended the guilty verdict in the 'rigged' Lockerbie trial

3. Appeared to support the establishment of al Qaeda in Libya.

4. Appeared to turn a blind eye to CIA rendition flights.

If Scotland becomes independent:

1. The first problem the Prime Minister of England would face could be a weakening of the English economy.

2. The Scottish currency, like the currencies of Switzerland and Norway, would be strong.

The last set of figures from the statisticians show that for 2008-9, Scotland provided more in revenue to the London government than was spent in Scotland.

3. Scotland would keep out of NATO and its wars.

4. Scotland would be non-nuclear country, just like Switzerland.

5. Scotland's tourist industry would be boosted.

There are 90 million people of Scottish origin in this world.

Scots are much sought after as managers in large international companies worldwide.

There are some Scots who are not wise leaders and they tend to end up associated with the Labour Party, which for many years ran Scotland on behalf of their London masters.

Norway has saved $430 billion for the future.

Norway has invested heavily in infrastructure.

Finland is even richer than Norway and it does not have oil.

Scotland should be as rich as Norway and Finland, but it is not.

Scotland still has vast oil wealth; Scotland has about 25% of Europe's renewable energy resources; Scotland has a history of producing great inventions.

Scotland is 'poor', because many of its people vote for the Labour party, the party of war and poverty.

Labour failed to control the corrupt bankers.

Labour wasted billions on wars.

Labour wants to waste £100 billion on a replacement for Trident.

Labour took Scotland's wealth and spent it in the South East of England on motorways, railways, the underground, airports and other projects.


In January 2010, a report by the UK government's National Equality Panel pointed out that the gulf between rich and poor in the UK grew wider under the Labour Party than at any time since the Second World War.

The report says that inequality in Britain is among the worst in the developed world, with the highest rate of poverty in western Europe.

On average, children born in the poorest areas will die 13 years before those in the richest.

Who benefits from Scotland's oil?

Not the people of the Calton area of Glasgow where the average life expectancy of a male is just 53.9 years.

This is lower than in most Third World countries. (In Iraq, life expectancy is 67. Minutes from Glasgow city centre ...)

It's Scotland's oil. And more than half the oil is still to come.

The Scottish media, controlled one suspects by the London spooks, have produced a deluge of dishonest stories attacking the Scottish National Party.

Scotland gets less public spending per head than London and many other regions of England.

Tax revenues from Scotland more or less match the country's public spending, if all North Sea oil and gas revenues are taken into account. (Research, published by the Glasgow Herald, based on Treasury figures in Whitehall, an analysis by consultants Oxford Economics and the newspaper's own calculations.)

Something called the GERS report "demonstrates that Scotland recorded a current budget surplus over the three years to 2007/08 of £2.3 billion, while the UK ran up a deficit of £24 billion over the same period." (Falklands could benefit from own oil)

UK civil servants calculated that North Sea oil could boost incomes in an independent Scotland by up to 30%.

This is according to government records made public, 0n 28 September 2009, at the National Archives of Scotland in Edinburgh.

The Scottish National Party's Brian Adam commented: "Scotland’s oil industry has a bright future with an estimated 30 billion barrels of oil still to be extracted, new technology developing and a central role in the global oil industry.

"Scotland’s oil industry has a positive future.

"With the UK making £250 billion of revenue from North Sea oil over the last 30 years in real terms, it is now time to ensure that future revenues are invested properly for Scotland’s future."

Labour has ensured that Scotland is 'poor'.

Ramsay MacDonald (1866 – 1937) was the typical Scottish Labour politician.

Macdonald married Margaret Gladstone, a lady of wealth.

With Ramsay MacDonald's first government there was little in the way of 'change'.

The government supported bosses against their workers.

One of the government's first acts was to use of troops against an engine drivers' strike.
